Garden critters no. 3

While I continue to plug away on patching my aunt's quilt, I have a few more garden critters to share.
I hope you like frogs. Tree frogs, that is.

This guy is about 1.5 inches long. See the suction toes?

I have had two tree frogs living in a cache pot all summer. I removed the inner plant to snap a photo of the most photogenic one. They seem to love living in my pot because it had poor drainage (so they could keep moist), and they were in the shade. But the excess moisture killed a rex begonia early on. Oh, well...I can live with a begonia sacrificed for a tree frog habitat.

And this may be one of the last of the summer butterflies, sunning himself on the lamium groundcover.

Pink and green

My light pink astilbes with a faint perfume of peaches.  Wish they lasted a bit longer.

And I've been playing hide-and-go-seek with this little guy for the past week. He likes to hide between my stacked outdoor chairs, but is in a different place every time I look. Today he got perturbed at me taking photos, and jumped right onto the siding.  Sorry to bug you, Mr. Tree Frog. I just love looking at you.

Fun Garden Surprise

Look who was hiding under my flat of flowers this morning...Mr. Tree Frog! Love those suction cup feet!

Blue Mouse Ears hosta.  So cute and little (quarter on leaf to show size).
